Throw-a-Thon

 The Ju-Jitsu Center in Richmond Hill will be conducting black belt gradings this year. To cover the cost of bringing an examiner from the World Ju-Jitsu Federation in England to the club, we will be having some fund raising events throughout the year. This first event is based on a sponsored student throwing an opponent as many times as he or she can in one minute for juniors, and two mins. for adults.

The event will take place on Saturday the 11th of February at the Ju-Jitsu Center (spectators are welcome). 

10 to 11 am will be for the Intro. class, pre-juniors and juniors.

11 to 12 am will be for teens, ladies, and open adults.

Sponsorship forms are available at the dojo. Many thanks for your contiuned support.

National Night Out

On Tuesday the 2nd of August, the demo team performed at Gregory Park during the National Night Out event.The team did a great job and was well received by the large crowd. It was a busy nigh for the all concerned with many new people looking to join this fast growing club. It was particularly pleasing to get many inquiries from ladies; no doubt impressed by the high standards shown by our two brown belts: Shelena and Tina.

New Class

Due to popular demand we are happy to offer a new class for Juniors (4 to 12 years).

This class will be an introductory class on Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6 pm to 6-45.
Although the age range for this class will be 4 to 12 years, as soon as places become available in either the Pre-Junior class (4 to 7 years) or the Junior class (7 to 12), students will be offered a place accordingly in the regular classes.

Fees will be $60 per month, and a one time registration fee of $65, which includes a Gi (uniform), will be due at sign-up.

Sensei Glimmerveen completes 3rd. dan grading in the UK in front of Professor Robert Clark (Soke, 9th dan).

 Ju-Jitsu center student, Darren Briseno, traveled to England recently and received special training at the WJJF head quarters. 

After the session, Darren met with Prof. Robert Clark 9th dan.
